About Us

Bluet Native Plant Nursery is a small backyard nursery located in Shickshinny, Luzerne County, PA. We are dedicated to growing plants native to Pennsylvania and the greater Mid-Atlantic region. Much of our plants are grown from PA ecotype seeds, ensuring the preservation of local genetic diversity. 

Our season generally starts in April and ends in October. We do not have a permanent retail location yet!

Our Promise 

At Bluet Native Plant Nursery, we take pride in growing native plants from seed. This allows us to bring you the highest quality plants suitable for your home garden. Our plants are 100% nursery propagated, never collected from the wild. All of our plants are straight species, wild-type plants (no cultivars). We do not use any pesticides, including neonicotinoids, ensuring that our plants are safe for hungry insects, pollinators, and the greater food web.

About the Owner

Hi! My name is Lauren, and I am the owner of Bluet Native Plant Nursery! I grew up in the Conyngham Valley here in Northeast PA. I graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor's degree in Plant Sciences. I have worked in local community gardens, operated a CSA (community-supported agriculture), and now I am propagating PA native plants! I am so excited to share our wonderful native plants with you!
